BJP will show the strength of the organization in the war against Corona, the party raising Rs 5000 crores
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which holds the title of the world's largest political party in terms of the number of members, will also show its strength in the war against Coronavirus . The party has set a target of raising Rs 5000 crore by taking donations from its members.
The party has asked all its state presidents to join the mission to achieve this goal. BJP sources said that the fund-raising work is going on at a massive level in each district. Party President JP Nadda himself is monitoring this campaign. He is conferencing with state level officials every day.
MPs gave 1-1 crores
BJP is using its network to achieve the target of 5 thousand crore rupees. On the appeal of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda, the BJP has raised Rs 400 crore from its MPs. BJP's 303 Lok Sabha and 83 Rajya Sabha MPs have given 1-1 crore rupees from MP fund. Apart from this, they have donated their salary to PM-Cares.
800 crore target from MLAs
Apart from this, the party has around 1400 MLAs and MLCs. All of them have pledged to donate in PM-Cares. Party sources said that there are plans to raise about Rs 800 crore from the party MLAs and MLC. Some allied parties have also spoken about their contribution to the fund.
MPs and MLAs are also giving up their salaries. This is an unprecedented situation.
18 crore members will give 100-100 rupees
A party source said, 'The leadership has asked all 18 crore members to pay Rs 100-100 in PM Cares. This will fetch around Rs 1800 crore. Active members can give up to 2-4 lakh rupees. Party officials have been asked to collect donations from traders and businessmen of their area.
The party has activated its camps to help the people on the ground. Every worker has been asked to make arrangements for food and lodging for at least 5 poor people. A BJP leader said, 'BJP will not let anyone starve and sleep. Each of our members will feed at least 5 people in the lockdown and make arrangements to stay. '
